How to Write 质 (zhì) — Meaning “Quality / Nature / Substance”

Imagine you are in a factory (厂) where workers check the quality of shells (贝) before selling them. The factory ensures only the best shells pass – so 质 means "quality" or "nature" of something.

Write the top part 厂 first: a short horizontal line, then a left-falling stroke. Then add 贝 underneath: a vertical line down from the left, then a horizontal fold, then two small strokes inside. Make sure the 厂 covers the top of 贝, and keep the 贝 narrow, not wide.
