How to Write 道 (dào) — Meaning “Road / Path / Way”

Imagine a head (首) leading you down a path (辶) — like a guide showing the way. Picture that leader walking ahead on a road, so 道 means the 'way' or 'path' to follow.

Write the radical 辶 (3 strokes: dot, then horizontal left-to-right with a hook, then bottom-down-curl) before the right part 首. A common mistake is making the 首 too tall or not placing the far-left dot of 辶 high enough — keep the dot above the horizontal stroke.
