How to Write 恁 (nèn) — Meaning “So; such; that”

Picture a person (任) putting their hand over their heart (心) while saying "So?" or "That much?" in surprise. The top part 任 looks like a person standing, and the bottom heart shows they are feeling strongly. This helps you connect the shape to the meaning "so" or "such."

The top part 任 must be written narrow and centered above the bottom 心, not too wide. Pay special attention to the three dots of 心: the left dot, a curved hook in the middle, and the right dot – they should not touch the top component. A common mistake is making the bottom heart too large or misplacing its dots to the left.

恁 has 任 (任) on top, while 忝 has 天 (tiān, "sky") and 忞 has 文 (wén, "writing") above the same heart bottom.
