How to Write 悫 (què) — Meaning “honest”

Imagine a person who is 'honest' (què) always speaks from the heart (心) and never takes a shortcut — think of '却' meaning 'but' or 'however' as a gentle reminder to stay truthful. The top part 却 looks like a hand stopping deception, while the bottom heart emphasizes sincerity.

The top part 却 has a '土' (earth) on the left and a '卩' (seal) on the right; make sure the left side is not written as '士'. The bottom radical 心 should be wide and flat, with the three dots spaced evenly — do not make the middle dot too high or the heart shape too narrow.

悫 (què) means 'honest' and contains 心 on the bottom, while 怎 (zěn) means 'how' and has 心 inside with a different top (乍). 怒 (nù) means 'anger' and also uses 心, but its top is 奴 (slave), showing a completely different emotion. Visually, 悫's top is 却, not 乍 or 奴.
